Albert Park Public School is an innovative and progressive school that delivers quality teaching programs in a nurturing small school setting. It is set in a beautiful, natural environment nestled on a hillside, on the edge of town. It has spacious double classrooms, equipped with individual computers for each child, a comprehensive new library and shaded spacious playgrounds with a basketball court and play equipment.
The school prides itself on the delivery of targeted and innovative teaching and learning programs in all of the Key Learning Areas. The school's emphasis on teaching the individual has consistently shown up in the growth of matched students in national and state testing. There are currently 91 students enrolled at Albert Park. Enrolments are predominantly local and 26% are Indigenous students. The school has an Aboriginal committee and representation on the AECG. Albert Park Public School has four permanent teachers, an Instructional Leader and a permanent Aboriginal Education Officer.
Priorities as identified by surveys include continual focus on literacy and numeracy, technology and student welfare. As a result, additional staff are employed who include two temporary teachers, a full time School Learning Support Officer, a School Chaplain, a part time Aboriginal School Learning Support Officer and a Speech Pathologist.
