Our professional, university-educated teachers encourage students to develop a love of learning and a desire to succeed. They maintain the highest integrity and concern for your child’s wellbeing.

The principal is responsible for the educational leadership and management of our school. If you would like to speak to the principal, please contact us to make an appointment.

Our school administrative staff can answer inquiries or direct you to the appropriate staff member for help.

Mrs. Jennifer Smedley

Image: I began my teaching career in 1984, teaching in Sydney casually for three years before becoming permanent. I was an Assistant Principal in Sydney before moving back to Lismore where I grew up. I have been the Principal of Albert Park since 2012. I am extremely proud of our beautiful little school and what I love most about teaching and leading this wonderful school is the ability to make a difference for all the students in our care.

 

 

Mrs. Celia Coleman

Image: I started teaching in 2010 in the Lismore area. I have worked at various schools in a number of different roles. I started at Albert Park in 2021 as an Instructional Leader and am now called an Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction (APCI). This means it is my job to work with the teachers to ensure their teaching in the classrooms is the best it can be.

Image: My name is Ben. I have been an SLSO at Albert Park since 2016. I am passionate about my work - when student has a light bulb moment in front of me I get tears in my eyes. On the weekend I enjoy playing the clarinet, the violin, the cello and also and pumping iron at my local gymnasium.

 

 

Mrs. Rachel Sipple

Image: I started teaching in Katherine NT in 2000. I have taught in Darwin, Alice Springs and now Lismore. My favourite part of teaching is when you see the student finally understand a concept or be able to demonstrate a skill that they had been struggling with. On the weekends and after school you will find me hanging out with my family or cycling, running, at the gym, swimming or off on an adventure or competing in some type of multisport.

 

 

Mrs. Rhiannon Davies

Image: I graduated and commenced teaching around the local area in 2012. I have been a part of the Albert Park team for the past 10 years. As a teacher I aim to make learning fun, relevant, challenging and achievable. I strive to inspire students to set goals and support them to achieve their best. Outside of school I love spending time with my husband and our three children. I enjoy cooking, reading, sports and doing anything creative.

Mrs. Laura McLauchlan

Image: My name is Laura McLauchlan (Mrs Mack) and I have been teaching at Albert Park Public School since 2008. I have had various roles over the years including classroom teacher, librarian, Learning and Support Teacher, RFF teacher, STEM co-ordinator, Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction and Relieving Principal. I am passionate about instilling a love of learning in my students and creating a positive learning environment where each child feels valued and cared for. My interests outside of teaching including surfing, swimming, reading and camping with my family.

 

 

Mrs. Emily Meaney

Image: My name is Emily Meaney (Mrs Meaney - great teachers name, I know!) and I have been at Albert Park for 5 years now. I moved up from Sydney to this beautiful region and will never go back! I completed a Bachelor of Primary Education and a Master’s Degree in Special Needs Education at the University of Wollongong. I am passionate about providing a safe and nurturing environment where students can develop a deep love of learning. I strive to create great relationships with students and their families to best support the needs of each child. Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, going for swims and getting out and about.

 

 

Mr. Tom Bignell

Image: I completed a Graduate Diploma of Education at the University of Wollongong in 2010. I taught around the Sydney area for 8 years before moving to Lismore at the start of 2019 and beginning work at Albert Park. I love primary school teaching here because the students are open-minded, fun and kind to each other, and we get to make a real difference in their lives. On the weekend I enjoy socialising, lazing around home with my family or getting out and about in the beautiful Northern Rivers.
